(SportsMax)- Elaine Thompson-Herah, Omar McLeod, Jaydon Hibbert, Roje Stona and Brianna Lyston are the biggest names missing from the list of entries published by the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) on Monday ahead of the JAAA Puma National Junior and Senior Championships set for June 26-29 at the National Stadium in Kingston. Thompson-Herah, a two-time Olympic sprint double winner and the fastest woman alive in the 100m, has yet to make her debut this season after an injury-riddled 2024 campaign. Hibbert, the World Under-20 record holder in the triple jump, has also not made an appearance this season. McLeod, on the other hand, has competed regularly this season, most recently at the C.D.S. Assoluto su Pista in Italy on Saturday where he won both the 100m (10.36) and 110m hurdles (13.52). Stona, who made history with his gold medal-winning performance at the Paris Olympics, has competed twice this season. Lyston, who recently turned pro, hasn’t competed outdoors this season after an injury-riddled indoor campaign for the LSU Tigers. As for who fans can expect to see competing over the four days, five-time World champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and defending two-time National 100m champion Shericka Jackson will look to hold off a number of young challengers in the women’s 100m including the likes of the Clayton twins, Alana Reid, Briana Williams, Kemba Nelson and Krystal Sloley. On the men’s side, defending champion and Olympic silver medallist Kishane Thompson and fellow Olympic finalist Oblique Seville will renew their budding rivalry. Also entered include the likes of Yohan Blake, Ackeem Blake, Julian Forte, Sandrey Davison, Bryan Levell, Gary Card, Bouwahjgie Nkrumie and Christopher Taylor, who will compete in the sprint double. Levell, Card, Seville are also among the contenders in the half lap event. Levell soared to new heights in the event with his wind-aided 19.79 at the Racers Grand Prix and will, no doubt, enter as the favorite. Dejanea Oakley, the fastest Jamaican in the world this year, leads the entries in the 400m, setting up an exciting clash with national record holder and defending champion, Nickisha Pryce. The entries in the men’s equivalent are led by 2023 World champion Antonio Watson and also includes the likes of Zandrion Barnes, Shemar Chambers and defending champion Deandre Watkin. Sixteen men have entered the 110m hurdles led by defending champion and Olympic bronze medallist Rasheed Broadbell and 2021 Olympic champion Hansle Parchment. Also in the field are NCAA stars Jaheim Stern, Demario Prince and Jerome Campbell and Olympian Orlando Bennett. The field for the 100m hurdles includes defending world champion Danielle Williams, World Indoor medallist and fastest Jamaican this year Ackera Nugent and Olympic bronze medallist Megan Tapper. World Under-20 record holder and World and Olympic finalist Roshawn Clarke and defending national champion Malik James-King will lock horns once again in the men’s 400m hurdles while the women’s equivalent will be absolutely loaded with the likes of Rushell Clayton, Janieve Russell, Shiann Salmon and Andrenette Knight all down to compete. In the field, 2019 World Champion Tajay Gayle and World and Olympic silver medallist Wayne Pinnock lead a stacked field in the men’s long jump that also includes the likes of defending champion and World Indoor medallist Carey McLeod, Nikaoli Williams and Shawn-D Thompson among others. World and Olympic silver medallist Shanieka Ricketts will lead a field of six in the women’s triple jump comprising Shantae Foreman, Ackelia Smith, Kimberly Williams, Machaeda Linton and Imani Oliver. Fresh off an NCAA title, Ralford Mullings leads the entries in the men’s discus throw along with 2019 World Championship silver medallist Fedrick Dacres. Olympic medallist Rajindra Campbell is chief among the entries in the men’s shot put.
