Oslo, June 10 (QNA) - The annual Oslo Peace Forum kicks off tomorrow, Wednesday, in the Norwegian capital, Oslo, with broad international participation.
The two-day event is themed "Reimagining the Power of Mediation and Diplomacy for Peacemaking in an Increasingly Volatile World."
The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the organizer of the forum, said in a statement Tuesday that the forum will bring together decision-makers and peace actors to discuss the most pressing international issues of the moment.
The forum will also provide an informal setting for participants to exchange experiences and stimulate ideas for resolving some of the world's most complex and protracted conflicts and ways to achieve international peace and security.
The agenda features sessions on the risks and opportunities of a ceasefire, the role of mediation diplomacy, the challenges of negotiated peace, and more.
The forum will also discuss the current situation in the Middle East and the conflicts in Sudan, Ukraine, Congo, and Myanmar.
Since its inception in 2003, the Oslo Forum has become a leading international platform for dialogue on peace and mediation.
This year's forum continues to build on its legacy of promoting dialogue. (QNA)
