Right-arm seam bowler Harry Monzie and Sergio Sydney helped Patricia D James Secondary School (PDJSS) to a second win in as many games in the 2025 M Cricket Tournament. PDJSS defeated St Mary’s College (SMC) by five wicinistry of Youth Development and Sports Schools’ Under-19 50-Over Boys’kets with 42 balls in hand on Friday.
The fixture at the Gros Islet Playing Field was delayed by rain, and the umpires decided to reduce the game to 25 overs per side. Rain also interrupted during the first innings, but the game was able to reach a conclusion.
Monzie and Sydney shared six wickets between them, yielding only 55 runs. Monzie, a national Under-15 player, and a member of the team that won last year’s Windward Islands age-group competition, took 3-23. Sydney captured 3-22. Jervon Fevrier, who took 3-12 in the win over Castries Comprehensive Secondary School on Tuesday, followed that up with 2-21 at the second time of asking.
The PDJSS bowlers dismissed SMC for 90 in 23 overs. John Michael Auguste made 20 not out, and Keiverny Melius 16.
Nickyah Thomas and Jervon Fevrier both got into double figures for the second game in a row, as PDJSS got to 91-5 in just 18 overs. Thomas made 15, Fevrier 14, while Daviel Pilgram and Jesse Bernard made 13 each.
National Under-15 vice-captain Jean Claude Emmanuel took a remarkable 2-2 for SMC, but he did not get enough support. Dante Eugene and Kyran Serieux took a wicket apiece.
