Pete Wicks has admitted that he ‘prefers’ Sam Thompson being ‘single’ and revealed he ‘disliked’ his ex-girlfriend just weeks after his best friend’s split from Zara McDermott. The former Made In Chelsea stars and TV presenters broke up towards the end of last year after five years together to the shock of their fans. Since their split, Zara has been seeing former One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson , who played with Sam in Soccer Aid earlier in the summer. Last week saw Zara sharing a snap of her and Louis, who said he ‘loves her’ in the comments section’, sharing a kiss as fans declared it was an official ‘hard launch’ . Sam was revealed to be dating Love Island contestant Samie Elishi shortly after their breakup, but the pair split in June. The I’m A Celebrity winner is reported to be currently dating American holistic nutritionist Steph Robinson, having also been linked to Too Hot To Handle’s Lucy Syed. In the latest episode of the Staying Relevant podcast, Sam hooked Pete up to a lie detector test to ask him questions he normally wouldn’t ask him. With the episode marking Sam’s birthday, Pete decided to hook himself up to a series of wires as a present, with an expert named Mark examining the results. Asked if he likes Sam ‘more now that he’s single’, Pete bluntly replied ‘yes’, to which Mark confirmed he was telling the truth. Staying on the topic of his friend’s opinion of his dating life, Sam asked: “Have you disliked any of my previous partners?" Taking a moment to compose himself after bursting out laughing, Pete said ‘yes’, which was once again revealed to be a truthful answer. The popular duo didn’t elaborate on who Pete was referring to when talking about which of Sam’s exes he apparently didn’t like. Meanwhile, one question that Pete lied about was when Sam caught him off guard by asking him if he was ‘in love’ with anyone . “You know exactly who it is, I literally told you the f****** story, she's not replied… Why would you put that one in there? “That was not on the f****** list… Are we f****** done with me now,” Pete fumed. Sam replied: “I don't know, it just came to my head, it's a f****** lie. Pete's in love with somebody. Find her! Find her! Pete's in love secretly and I think I know who it is."
