PGA Tour Player Suspended for Controversial Play at LIV Golf Miami
@Source: newsweek.com
LIV Golf recently introduced a new event following in the PGA Tour's footsteps. They launched "The Duels: Miami" the week of LIV Golf Miami, just a week before the 89th Masters Tournament.It was essentially the Saudi-circuit's version of the PGA Tour Creator Classic, which debuted in 2024.Part-time PGA Tour pro and content creator Wesley Bryan participated in the LIV event, despite reportedly being threatened with sanctions.It was believe Bryan pushed back and was in the clear to play. Apparently not.On Wednesday, it was revealed that Bryan has been suspended indefinitely for participating in the event.But the member of the Bryan Bros. YouTube channel does not regret his decision."No, I don't have regrets. That video is one of the most powerful videos in YouTube golf." Bryan said. "We are going to continue to support Grant [Horvat] and grow the game through YouTube."The video on Horvat's YouTube channel has over two million views. It exploded almost immediately, dwarfing the numbers that the PGA Tour Creator Classic produced.But just because he does not regret his choice, that does not mean he doesn't want back on the PGA Tour."For the last eight or nine years, the opportunities have been amazing," said Bryan. "I'm extremely grateful to the Tour for that. I don't want this to be the end of my professional golf career."The content creator is in the Dominican Republic this week, and would have been looking to improve upon his second place finish last year at the Corales Puntacana Championship.That is this week's Alternate Field event on the PGA Tour. Most of the world's best are in Harbour Town for the next Signature Event, the RBC Heritage.But Bryan has known for a while this might be coming. He was reportedly placed on probation the day after "The Duels: Miami" was first introduced in March.The YouTube golfer acknowledged to being in the dark as to how long his suspension will last.More Golf: LA Olympics Add New Golf Competition Fans Have Been Asking For
