Phasmophobia update gives players exactly what they've been asking for
@Source: mirror.co.uk
The latest significant update for Phasmophobia has entirely transformed the way hunters gather media, and while it's significantly enhanced the game, it brought its own set of issues that the developer addressed in an unexpected update this week. I've been engrossed in Phasmophobia since it was launched on console last year and despite my usual aversion to scary games, I've thoroughly enjoyed it. The Chronicle update in June caused a massive shake-up in the game, altering media collection with new types and caveats to achieve the perfect investigation. Initially, the reactions were mixed but players seem to have come around, although there were still some valid complaints. Well, we can put our moaning on hold (at least for a bit), as Kinetic Games released a surprise Phasmophobia update on Thursday, July 11, just a fortnight after the major Chronicle update that targets the main points of disagreement we've all had since it was introduced. Kinetic Games rolled out a much-needed update for Phasmophobia, boosting the number of deletions available to players. The latest patch now allows up to five deletions , with the amount varying based on the game's difficulty level – a welcome change that addresses the issue of managing photos, videos, and sound recordings within the game. However, there's a twist: the number of deletions is linked to the game's difficulty setting (as well as custom game difficulty multiplier). Amateur ghost hunters are granted five deletions, Intermediate ones four, and Professional players three. Additionally, it's been noted that "Photos with $0 value can now be deleted without the need to vote," but after testing this out, this isn't a free delete, but counts as one of your allocated deletions. For those who've struggled with how the Sound Recorder works, there's good news: the update introduces audio and visual cues to indicate when a recording is complete. This should eliminate the guesswork previously involved in using the device, making ghost hunting expeditions a tad less frustrating. We now also have new recordable video evidence, including Obake shapeshifting and the always-spooky Sunny Meadows crucifix events. Another significant update is increased rewards. Among the numerous quality of life changes in the Phasmophobia update, Kinetic has "Adjusted rewards so harder-to-record media feels more valuable." Essentially, we're getting an extra $5 for media captures, making the risky task of identifying ghosts slightly more profitable. There's plenty more in the Phasmophobia update to get excited about, and of course, there are fixes for some reported issues post-Chronicle, like the CCTV setup not being the new one. You can peruse the full patch notes below. And if you haven't got your Phasmo Twitch Drops yet , be sure to act fast to unlock them. Here are the complete patch notes for this week's Phasmophobia update, as posted on the blog . Kinetic states, "This update focuses on quality of life changes following the release of Chronicle in June, add addresses feedback seen on certain features related to Chronicle that we have seen discussed within the community", so let's get stuck in. Known Issues No more jumpscares from teddy bears and generally making that perfect investigation easier to achieve is brilliant news, and the quick turnaround on the patch is impressive, given the Chronicle update is still fresh. Well done, Kinetic!
