The Philadelphia Phillies were served a brutal reminder of their recent struggles at Citi Field when they suffered a blowout loss at the hands of the rival New York Mets on Monday. The Phillies held onto a considerable lead in the National League East division after the loss, but there were some reasons for concern after the blowout anyway. For one, the last thing the Phillies want to do is breathe new life into their division rival by giving up this latest series. And, for another, their best pitcher looked surprisingly shaky in the outing."After dominating the Mets once through the batting order, (Cristopher) Sanchez yielded three runs on five hits to fumble a three-run lead in the fourth inning, then returned to the dugout and kicked a trash can like (Lionel) Messi attacks a soccer ball," Scott Lauber reported for The Philadelphia Inquirer. When Sanchez returned to the game, he gave up a go-ahead run in what became a 13-3 rout and a harsh blemish on the pitcher's star season so far. After the game, Phillies franchise slugger Bryce Harper pointed out that the Mets hitters had remarkable success against Sanchez in their second time through the batting order. That led him to suggest the Mets had noticed something that gave them an indication of what pitch he was going to throw."He might have been tipping a little bit," Harper said after the game, per Lauber. "We'll see. The Mets are so good at it. I think they're one of the best teams in the game at really getting guys and getting tips."Whether the Mets were really picking up tips from Sanchez or not, the Phillies will look to bounce back from the loss with a series win that can build on their divisional lead. The team will surely be investigating Sanchez's surprisingly bad outing and making any adjustments they can as the playoff race heats up.More MLB: Willson Contreras Likely Facing Suspension For Latest Outburst
