NORTHERN Ireland international Conor Hazard delivered a heroic performance to help Championship side Plymouth Argyle dump Liverpool out of the FA Cup on Sunday. The 26-year-old goalkeeper made several crucial saves as Plymouth secured a stunning 1-0 victory over the Premier League leaders. But the modest goalie refused to take credit for his superb performance as he insisted that he was just doing his job. And the Downpatrick native drew comparisons to Man Utd and Rep of Ireland icon Roy Keane after his bullish approach to any praise. Keano was known for never taking credit for some of his incredible performances throughout his storied career. Speaking in the post-game interview, the County Down man said: "What an atmosphere. We didn’t expect that this morning. "We knew it was going to be tough but the boys were brilliant and I’m proud of every single one of them. "At the end of the day that’s my job, to make saves, isn’t it? You have to keep the ball out of the net as best you can.” Hazard has earned eight international caps for Northern Ireland. And before joining Argyle in 2023, he played for Cliftonville and Celtic. One said: "Dont be too modest'...." Another posted: "He was humble. :)" While a third penned: "Roy Keane would be proud." And another wrote: "Roy Keane’s new favourite." In the game itself, Ryan Hardie left Liverpool’s hopes of winning the Quad in tatters by firing home a 53rd-minute penalty as Plymouth fans went berserk at Home Park. The Premier League leaders will rue making TEN changes and loading their bench with inexperienced kids as they deservedly crashed out of the FA Cup against the Championship’s bottom club.
