Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has remained silent on allegations that he received a $150,000-plus gold Rolex watch from a local businessman.
Speaking to reporters outside his office yesterday, Mr Rabuka declined to address the claims, citing a lack of substantial evidence.
Regional and local media reports have alleged that Mr Rabuka received the Rolex watch from a local business tycoon who had recently been granted a Presidential pardon.
“I have the right to remain silent,” Mr Rabuka said.
“Those making allegations will still have to prove what they are saying.”
