Pundits agree on Manchester United 'catalyst' as Nottingham Forest prediction made
@Source: manchestereveningnews.co.uk
Manchester United play Nottingham Forest tonight as the Premier League returns after the international break. Nuno Espirito Santo's team are flying high this season and currently occupy third position in the table while United sit in 13th - something which nobody would have predicted before the start of the season. With all the chat yesterday surrounding Bruno Fernandes and reported interest from Real Madrid, Ruben Amorim was quick to double down in his press conference just how important he is to this United side and stated a move is 'not going to happen”.' Forest currently hold onto a Champions League spot in the Premier League and have reached the FA Cup semi finals, but look set to be without star striker Chris Wood tonight. Chris Sutton In Sutton’s weekly predictions column for BBC Sport , the former striker sees Forest continuing their form and hurting United on the counter attack. He said: “I am concerned how Nottingham Forest will cope without Chris Wood up front if he is out injured. At the moment it is not clear how serious his problem is. “Forest made quite a few changes against Brighton in the FA Cup over the weekend, and still got through without 'the Wood-chopper', but they really need him back as soon as possible. “Speaking as a Forest fan, it's especially annoying that he has picked up this injury while on international duty. It will be harder for Forest without him, but I still think they can repeat their win at Old Trafford in December. “As for Manchester United , it is a big end to the season for their boss Ruben Amorim. Bruno Fernandes has carried them a bit recently in the league, and he is their best hope of getting a positive result here. “I am not sure either side will be too bothered about having the ball, but Forest fans are happy for them to sit deep and play on the counter, even when they are at home, and they are really good at it.” Sutton's prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-0 Manchester United Paul Merson The Sky Sports regular spoke with Sportskeeda: “Nottingham Forest just keep going and going, don’t they? Semi-final in the FA Cup, third in the league. If you said that at the start of the season, no one would even believe! I’s just absolutely phenomenal from them. “Manchester United are clicking here and there. I wouldn’t say everything is right with them, but it’s certainly better than how it was in the past. Ruben Amorim is doing a decent job, some amount of change is definitely visible at Old Trafford. “I believe that Bruno Fernandes has been Manchester United’s best player this whole time. He’s been steady and the catalyst during a very poor season for the club. Manchester United need seven or eight new players though! They are so behind at the moment and this whole summer rebuild is a worrying concern for them because they have to get it right. “Forest with the way that they’re playing, I think they finish inside the top five. This is a tough game for Nuno Espirito Santo’s high-flying men, but I don’t think Manchester United can beat them.” Merson’s prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-1 Manchester United
