Real Betis boss provides fresh Antony transfer update amid Manchester United decision
@Source: manchestereveningnews.co.uk
Real Betis manager, Manuel Pellegrini, has told Manchester United they have to make a decision on the future of Antony amid the club's desire to bring him back to Spain. The Brazilian has been excluded from Ruben Amorim 's squad this summer after returning from a loan spell at Betis, where he scored nine goals and registered five assists in 26 appearances. Betis are thought to want to sign Antony, once again, this summer, but with just over a week until the transfer window closes, he remains in England. Sporting director Mani Fajardo confirmed earlier this month that they will only sanction another move for Antony if it doesn't threaten their financial situation. Antony has been left out of Amorim's squad throughout pre-season and the start of the 2025/26 season. Now, Pellegrini has called for United to make a decision on the former Ajax star. "I've not spoken with Antony," he told Diario AS. "We all know that Antony was very good here, we want Antony with us, Antony wants to return no doubt. "But we also need the owner, which is Manchester United, to make a decision." The winger is one of five players inked-in to leave United before the window closes. Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia and Rasmus Hojlund are all being linked with moves away as they are not currently part of Amorim's plans. Garnacho is said to be holding out for a move to Chelsea , while Sancho has been the subject of strong interest from AS Roma. Malacia returned from his loan spell at PSV Eindhoven in the summer while Benjamin Sesko's big-money arrival from RB Leipzig has seen Hojlund drop down the pecking order at Old Trafford .
