A recent tournament at The Rise Golf Resort saw two winners crowned.
With a tournament-record score of 26-under par, Seymour Creek Golf Centre’s James Legault and Steven Lecuyer won the 2025 G&G Brands and Callaway Golf Pro-Assistant Championship.
Despite never playing on the course and arriving in Vernon that morning, Lecuyer shot 59 (-13). This marked the first time an individual association member shot 59 in a PGA of BC event. The pair took a three stroke lead going into the final round over Brian McDonald and Rob Tadey from Fairview Mountain Golf Club.
Before the 11th hole, Seymour Creek held just a two stroke lead, but two eagles and three birdies sealed a three shot victory.
With a 14-under in best-ball and a 12-under 60 in the scramble, Seymour Creek set a record for best Pro-Assistant total of all time.
“Steven played unbelievable golf the first day, which made today that much easier. We kept it in play, made some putts and it was a really great day,” said Lecuyer.
The Fairview Mountain duo also beat the previous tournament record.
Kelowna Golf & Country Club and Shadow Ridge Golf Club finished tied for third. Pacific Golf Academy and Groove4Golf finished in fourth.
