Report: Former Oregon basketball player Sedona Prince faces abuse allegations
@Source: oregonlive.com
Former Oregon women’s basketball player Sedona Prince faces numerous allegations of physical and sexual abuse, according to an extensive investigative report published Wednesday by Molly Hensley-Clancy of The Washington Post.
The Post investigation details allegations of sexual assault, domestic violence, and sexual misconduct by Prince dating back to 2019, with multiple women coming forward with stories of Prince’s alleged abuse.
Now playing for TCU in her final season of NCAA eligibility, the 24-year-old Prince played for the Ducks from 2019-2022 — which included two healthy seasons, major injuries and a viral TikTok video during the 2021 NCAA tournament that made a plea for equity in how women’s players were treated compared to men.
Prince declined to be interviewed for the investigation, with her attorney telling The Post that Prince “categorically denies that she has abused anyone in her life, whether mentally, emotionally or physically.”
Two women who later accused Prince of domestic violence were asked to sign nondisclosure agreements, The Post reports. Among the allegations of abuse is a lawsuit filed by an unnamed woman in Texas, tied to an alleged incident prior to Prince’s final year at Oregon.
