Just 40 days after his triumph at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Rory McIlroy clinched his second win of the year at The Players Championship on March 17th.McIlroy joined the elite club of multiple-time Players Championship winners that have also won at least two majors, including Scottie Scheffler, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.It looks like with the Masters championship just around the corner, McIlroy is gearing up to end his 11-year winless drought in major championships.Following his win at TPC Sawgrass, the Northern Irishman hinted at playing once before Augusta."I think three weeks going in [to the Masters] is a little too much, so I'll play one of the events in Texas, either Houston or San Antonio, I'm sure," the World No. 2 shared after defeating J.J. Spaun in a playoff at The PLAYERS.Now we know which event it is. McIlroy will tune-up at the Texas Children's Houston Open, starting Thursday, March 27.This will ultimately help him gear up to chase his coveted "Rory Slam." The last time the 4-time Major winner lifted a trophy was when he won the PGA Championship in 2014.His best finish since then was a second-place spot on the leaderboard in 2022.
