Howick Returned and Services Association (RSA) members are being reminded to attend its important Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) this Saturday.
And it’s also calling for more volunteers as Poppy Day donation collectors and helpers on Friday, April 11.
The Howick RSA says the purpose of the EGM is to approve the association’s new constitution as required under the Incorporated Societies Act (2022).
The RSA says the meeting requires a quorum of members, and if anyone cannot attend it has a proxy voting form that can be emailed.
The Howick RSA EGM is at 11am on Saturday, April 5, in the Dufty Bell Lounge at Pakuranga United Rugby Club, Lloyd Elsmore Park.
Meanwhile, the request for more Poppy Day manpower comes after a Times story last month.
“We’re very short of volunteers for our Poppy Day activities,” says the Howick RSA.
“If you’re able to help distribute poppies to our collectors, work on a collection desk, or in the background counting and banking money, that would be very good.
“We’ll run a briefing immediately after the EGM on Saturday for our Poppy Day volunteers who are present.”
