Ryan Kent 'decides' on next club as Rangers return murmur finally answered by winger with transfer door open
@Source: dailyrecord.co.uk
Free agent Ryan Kent looks set to finally end his football exile with a move to Major League Soccer. The former Rangers winger saw his big-money contract at Fenerbahce ripped up just 16 months after leaving the Scottish Premiership behind having barely featured for the Turkish giants since his Ibrox exit. Off the back of Jose Mourinho showing the misfit the door in Istanbul, speculation ramped up that the 28-year-old could return to Ibrox. At the time, boss Philippe Clement confessed that he was an admirer of the Englishman having attempted to snap him up while in charge of Club Brugge. Several outlets in Turkey claimed that a move back to Glasgow was on the cards in the January window - but no deal materialised. A move to the Saudi Pro League was on the cards for during the winter window, while an offer was also said to be on the table from Iranian side Persepolis where former Fenerbahce boss Ismail Kartal currently manages. However, the winger reportedly "clear" to his agent that he wants to remain in European football - which factored into Kent's long wait to find a new club. But it has now been suggested that he has binned that demand as he looks to be approaching an end to his exile which has lingered since October. He has not played a game since July when he was handed a rare appearance in the Champions League qualifiers by Mourinho. Reports Stateside claim that Kent has been offered a career lifeline by the Seattle Sounders. The Sounders are said to be "in advanced talks to sign" the out of contract star for the remainder of the MLS season. The deal is "likely" to hold an option for the 2026 campaign should Kent impress.
