Sam Faiers has revealed the real reason she decided to step away from reality TV as she prepares to make her grand return to our screens. The star, 34, quit reality TV back in 2021 when she revealed she was leaving her ITV show The Mummy Diaries, which also starred her sister Billie Shepherd. Now four years on, Sam has decided to step back into the spotlight as she recently returned to reality TV for a brand new show alongside her sister Billie yet again. The siblings, who shot to fame on ITVBe's TOWIE in 2010, have reunited for a fresh series titled Sam & Billie: Sister Act. It promises family drama, glamour, and plenty of laughs as cameras follow their lives once again. Now that the children are a bit older, it's time for them to concentrate more on themselves and enjoy some sisterly downtime, all while juggling motherhood, their careers, and life in the spotlight. As the show returns for its second episode tonight, the duo appeared on ITV hit daytime show This Morning alongside hosts Josie Gibson and Rylan Clark to discuss their new journey working together. It didn’t take long for the hosts to quiz Sam on her absence from TV. Sam explained, “It’s been a good four years since we filmed together, and actually, we have had so much fun.” She continued: “We started filming in January, and I’m not going to say it’s totally different, but it’s just us being sisters and going through life together. We’ve got six children and life is really busy, but it’s a bit of us time. “Sometimes when you become a mum, you often forget your identity and everything is about your children. We wanted to focus on having fun.” Billie jumped in and added, “I think because when we filmed in the past, it was about family and kids, so this feels very fresh and new, and it’s really exciting that we can do this together again.” Addressing her absence from TV, Sam went on to say: “We were filming The Mummy Diaries and my eldest son was about to start school, and I just felt it come to a natural end for me. "We had the most amazing time, and I feel like we got the best home movies ever.” She continued: “I think when your kids start going to school, life changes, and it felt for me that the time was right for me then. "When this opportunity came up for me and Billie to start something fresh again, I was like ‘I’m all in’ as long as we don’t have to do it about the children, then I’m all in.” ITV viewers will see the girls set off on joint journeys of self-discovery, delve deeper into their lives, grapple with health concerns, and confront some startling truths. But as always, they pull through it together with plenty of love and laughter as they continue to create lifelong memories, Sam & Billie: Sister Act continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
