The Samoan Royal Police Band surprised the audience at Sir Hubert Murray Stadium with their performance, showcasing the art of tattoo making.
The band started off with a simple march in and a marching formation, with a dance performance from their lead lady.
As the audience watched on, two of the band members demonstrated how tattoos are a significant part of Samoa’s culture, with the band playing in the background
Fellow band members removed their uniforms, dancing and pointing to their traditional tattoos at the hips and thighs.
What was more surprising about their performance was when a female member of the band sang a PNG hit song, “Tambu Lewa”. The singing performance of the PNG song by the Samoan Police kept the audience screaming.
The band also used a rugby ball to showcase rugby, a big part of Samoa, by passing it around while the band is playing marching on.
A haka performance was also showcased by the Samoan Police band..
