Scots UFC star gets fresh tattoo to celebrate huge London victory after escaping forfeit

Scots UFC fighter Chris Duncan followed through on his vow to get a new tattoo after his most recent fight. The Stirling scrapper scored a huge second round submission victory over Englishman Jordan Vucenic at the O2 Arena in London last month. Prior to the bout, the two martial artists – both heavily tattooed – agreed to a forfeit, where the loser would have to get the winner’s nickname inked on their backside. Having avoided the forfeit by securing the memorable win, Duncan opted to still get fresh ink – but not on his bum. Duncan defeated the Englishman by trapping him a guillotine chokehold, forcing him to submit. After the bout, the 31-year-old said he had perfected the technique thanks to training with and some tips and advice from team mate and friend Dustin Poirier, the former interim UFC lightweight champion. Paying tribute to his pal after the sensational victory, Duncan visited a Glasgow tattoo studio to have the ink forever ingrained on his skin. In a video posted on the Rock’n’Roll Tattoo Glasgow Instagram page, Duncan can be seen going under the needle as he gets the slogan tattooed across his thigh. It was the second fight in succession where Duncan has used the submission technique to score big wins and said the new tattoo “represents my last two fights”. Duncan, originally from Strathyre, Perthshire, celebrated backstage with a few words with Scottish WWE superstar Drew McIntyre just moments after the victory. Speaking at the post fight press conference, Duncan spoke of his pride at being the only Scotsman on the bill and representing Stirling on the world stage. He told the world’s media: “I’m Scottish born and bred and I’m a different kind of person. I’m very primal, I played rugby for my country. I’m very proud to be Scottish and carry the flag. “I’m from Stirling, where the Battle of Bannockburn took place in 1314. I’m very proud to be a Scottish fighter and I was the only Scottish fighter on this card tonight and I was super excited to go and perform the way I did.” Click here for more news and sport from the Stirling area.
