Two of the most hated rivals in hockey get ready to turn things up a notch in the playoffs, as the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators open up their first-round series on Sunday night.
The Battle of Ontario has been one of the more fierce rivalries in the NHL. However, it has been a long time since the Maple Leafs and Senators have faced off in the postseason. From 2000 to 2004, the two provincial rivals met in the playoffs four times, with Toronto coming out on top each time. This new batch of Senators will look to change their fate.

The Senators are back in the playoffs for the first time since 2017. Their young core of captain Brady Tkachuk, Thomas Chabot and Tim Stutzle have made this team one of the toughest in the league, and they are rearing to give the Leafs one for.
Toronto is coming off one of its best regular seasons in a long time. With players like Mitch Marner, Auston Matthews and William Nylander leading the way, the team went on to win the Atlantic Division for the first time ever.
