Guirassy has been a revelation across a magnificent debut season with Dortmund, having swapped Stuttgart for the Westfalenstadion, scoring 32 goals in his opening 43 games. The 29-year-old striker remains the top scorer in this year’s Champions League, despite Dortmund’s elimination from the competition, and only Harry Kane has bettered his tally in the Bundesliga across the 2024/25 campaign. It should therefore come as no surprise that clubs across Europe are keeping close tabs on Guirassy’s situation ahead of the summer transfer window. Guirassy has a €70million (£60m) release clause in his contract with BVB and the forward is free to move on should this be paid, with Bild name-checking Chelsea as a potential option. The Blues hope to bring in greater support for Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer in the goalscoring department and Guirassy finds himself on a shortlist of possible targets at Stamford Bridge, along with the likes of Liam Delap, Benjamin Sesko and Hugo Ekitike. However, the report suggests the Blues will be forced to look elsewhere for a new centre-forward given Guirassy has ‘clearly committed’ his future to Dortmund for next season. The former Stuttgart and Rennes attacker’s current deal with Dortmund runs through to June 2028. ‘Serhou absolutely wanted to join BVB. And not just to leave after a year,’ Dortmund’s managing director, Lars Ricken, told Sky Germany this week.
