Ramallah, June 29 (QNA) - Seven Palestinians, including a woman and a child, were injured on Sunday in a series of assaults carried out by Israeli settlers and occupation forces across various areas of occupied West Bank.
According to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), three Palestinians were wounded by live ammunition when settlers, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, attacked the eastern area of Hizma town, northeast of occupied Jerusalem.
In Khirbet Umm al-Khair, located in Masafer Yatta south of Hebron, armed settlers dressed in attire resembling that of Israeli occupation forces assaulted a group of residents, injuring four people - including a woman- with various wounds and bruises.
These attacks followed the seizure of Palestinian-owned land by settlers in the same area, where they expanded the illegal settlement of Karmel. Residents’ efforts to resist the encroachment were met with stun grenades, tear gas, and the detention of several individuals.
Meanwhile, in Tulkarm, Israeli occupation forces continued their intense military operations for the 154th consecutive day in the city, and for the 141st day in both Tulkarm refugee camp and the nearby Nur Shams camp.
The targeted areas saw a heavy deployment of infantry and military vehicles, roadblocks, home searches, and the detention- then later release- of several young men. The camps also remain under a tight siege, with residents blocked from accessing their homes amid ongoing live fire.
In recent weeks, Israeli forces have intensified demolition operations in the camps, destroying dozens of homes and residential buildings. According to local sources, more than 100 buildings are slated for demolition - efforts that have already displaced over 25,000 people, leveled more than 500 homes, and damaged thousands of other structures and facilities.
In addition, Nablus Street and the northern district of Tulkarm witnessed the takeover of buildings, which have been turned into military outposts. The continued closure of checkpoints and entry points further exacerbated the daily suffering of residents.
These developments come amid a sustained escalation on the ground, marked by a widening pattern of daily violence against Palestinians in West Bank. Human rights organizations have issued repeated warnings about the deteriorating humanitarian situation as a result of ongoing military operations and settlement expansion plans. (QNA)
