To make the Vodafone Fijiana XV squad was a dream come true for Michella’e Stolz .
The 18-year-old is a utility back but prefers to play at full-back.
She attends Whangarei Girls High School in New Zealand. Stolz hails from Naselesele Village in Taveuni and shares maternal links to Nasolo in Ba. She started her rugby career at Hora Hora Rugby Club in New Zealand.
Stolz first played rugby when she was 11 and fell in love with the sport. Her goal was to play for the Fijiana team.
“Ever since I played rugby, I fell in love with the sport as I grew older. I wanted to make it my goal to play for Fiji and represent my country and play for my family,” Stolz told SUNsports.
“I always look up to the Fijiana girls. It was my goal and my dream that one day I would want to play with them.”
Stolz always believe in the power of spiritual enhancement.
“I play for the Global Youth Sevens in New Zealand and also for the NZ Fijians. Then I was scouted from there and my name was put for the trials. I went through that pathway to make it into the Fijiana team.”
She starts her day with her personnel devotion.
“That is through Bible readings and prayers. By being strong spiritually empowers me during physical training. It is so good to be with these girls and they look after me. I felt welcomed the first time when I joined them,” Stolz added.
