However, she fell short of the top five. In 2021, she performed at the Tokyo Olympics' Opening Ceremony. This summer, SuBo will perform at the National Prayer Breakfast for Scotland in Edinburgh, stating: "I am thrilled to be performing at the Scottish Prayer Breakfast. My faith has always been my strength and backbone throughout my career." Most recently, she returned to social media as she made a big announcement. She excitedly told her fans: "Hi, I'm Susan Boyle. Follow my journey on TikTok, Facebook and Instagram. I'm back! Definitely back and I can't wait to do it all for you." She said: 'Today's a special day — it's my birthday! But I've got something exciting to share… I'm back and working on some wonderful new projects that I can't wait for you to hear about! 'More news will be coming very soon, but I just wanted to say how much I've missed you all. Your support means the world to me and I'm more determined and excited than ever. Love, Susan x.' Away from music, Susan met an American doctor while touring after her Britain's Got Talent stint, and they began a romantic relationship. She kept his identity private, and they were never photographed together in the media. Susan opened up about her personal life in a candid chat with The Mirror. She playfully remarked, "I don't want to reveal the doctor's name. It's nothing serious at the moment. I will send him a picture of my weight loss – if he's a good boy! I do enjoy male companionship." The star also expressed her desire to expand her family, saying, "I would love to adopt a child too but my cat might get jealous. I don't want to see a cat and a baby fighting. It's something I might do later." In another heart-to-heart, Susan shared, "I don't want to say any more about who he is right now as that would be unfair on him. All I'll say is we are around the same age and he was a very nice guy." Reflecting on her romantic life, she revealed, "I did have a gentleman friend, a doctor. We went for lunch but I didn't tell anyone." She added, "But if I had a man friend it would be purely platonic - I've been on my own too long now to get married." Previously, Susan considered becoming a foster mum as adoption wasn't an option due to her age. "I've a lovely house, why not share it?" she mused, speaking to Lady Magazine. "I love children," she confessed. "I've never had any of my own, that's my biggest regret." Recently, Susan has hinted at her hopes to become a mother. When it comes to her finances, reports suggest that Susan's illustrious career has amassed her a fortune of £22 million. Despite this, she leads a modest lifestyle, previously telling Piers Morgan that she manages on a weekly allowance of £300-£500, which she finds "plenty". As for her home life, Susan remains in her childhood residence located in Blackburn, West Lothian. She previously opened up to OK! Magazine about the importance of staying grounded. She said: "It's to do with the memories of your house and your upbringing, you need to take stock of things and maybe see where you come from and where your roots lie. It's best to be grounded and with your roots. It keeps you grounded and prevents you from saying things maybe you shouldn't say." The I Dreamed A Dream star recently made a rare appearance at Knock House Hotel in County Mayo. The hotel shared a photo of Susan on social media, writing: "It was our pleasure to welcome Susan Boyle back to Knock House again recently. "Susan is a fabulous Lady and we always love to see her return time and time again to Knock House Hotel. Pictured here with the lovely Des Dugan from the team at Senior Times LIVE!". In addition, Susan recently reunited with comedian Peter Kay, 12 years after their Comic Relief single I Know Him So Well. After attending his show in Glasgow, she posted on Instagram: "A reunion 12 years in the making! Susan Boyle and Peter Kay back together again after she went to see his hilariously brilliant show "Peter Kay Live" in Glasgow. How has it been 12 years since their Comic Relief video came out? !". Back in 2016, Susan revealed that she had lost two stone. At the same time, she shared that she had been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes four years earlier. She confessed: "I needed to stop eating sweeties and cakes. It's the bane of my life. "I had to lose the weight for my health."
