The Fiji Rugby Union has confirmed that the Fiji Water Flying Fijians will take on Scotland in a Test match scheduled for July 12, at 3pm at Suva’s HFC Bank Stadium. This marks the 13th encounter between the two rugby nations, with their first meeting dating back to September 25, 1982.
Flying Fijians head coach Mick Byrne, who recently returned from his trip to the UK and France, is enthusiastic about the upcoming clash.
Byrne revealed that his team is currently monitoring a list of 80 players for test matches scheduled throughout the year, including the squad announcement for the highly anticipated July test series.
“There is a good mix of players from both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, and we’re continuously monitoring and discussing selection as we approach the test dates,” said Byrne.
“It will be great to play Scotland on our home ground with a strong squad.”
This upcoming match will be a crucial part of Fiji’s ongoing preparation as they look to compete at the highest level in 2025.
