@Source: walesonline.co.uk
Swansea City are into the next round of the Carabao Cup after edging past Plymouth Argyle on penalties at the Swansea .com Stadium. Zan Vipotnik gave the hosts the lead with a stunning opener, before Brendan Wiredu headed in an equaliser on the stroke of half-time. The contest was eventually settled by way of a penalty shootout , with Melker Widell striking the decisive penalty after Matthew Sorinola had missed for the visitors. Andy Fisher 8 - STAR MAN Made some really big saves in the second half to keep Plymouth at bay. Saved Sorinola's penalty too. A really pleasing performance. Sam Parker 6 Looked really rusty early on, but did grow into the game with a couple of promising runs. Kaelan Casey 6 A little untidy at times. Will be frustrated to come off injured too. Hopefully it was merely a precaution. Cameron Burgess 7 Dominant in the air all night. Made a couple of really good interventions and read the game well. Subbed. Josh Tymon 7 A typically assured showing. Marko Stamenic 6 Looked a little shaky initially, and was untidy in possession early on. Grew into the game, though, and helped tee up Vipotnik for the goal. One of several to fade after the break, though. Subbed. Jay Fulton 6 Worked hard in the middle of the park, but was quiet on the whole. Probably wasn't helped by having to slot in at centre-back late on, mind. Eom Jisung 7 Once again ran into trouble on the ball a few times, but his grit to win the ball back helped set up the goal. Subbed off with what looked an injury. Melker Widell 6 Had some encouraging flashes and looked a useful outlet on the counter, but faded as the game wore on. Was outmuscled for the goal too. Zeidane Inoussa 6 Caused the Plymouth defence problems for much of the first half, but another to fade after the break. Subbed. Zan Vipotnik 7 Produced a stunning strike and actually showed some real energy out of possession in the first half. Was sadly not really in the game, second half, however. Still, a timely reminder of what he can do and a performance to build on. Subs : Josh Key (on for Eom 62) - Had some promising moments, but a quiet cameo on the whole - 6 Ben Cabango (on for Burgess 62) - Not much to take issue with, but an understated showing- 6 Ethan Galbraith (on for Stamenic 62) - Livened up the midfield quite nicely late on, but couldn't find his usual killer touch - 6 Malick Yalcouye (on for Inoussa 62) - Harassed and harried, but with little reward - 6 Liam Cullen (on for Casey 70) - Missed a really good chance late on - 6
