Cairo, March 04 (QNA) - Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa stressed that the call for the forced displacement of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the rest of the occupied territories is a stigma against humanity by all standards, and an attempt to reproduce a new tragedy that doubles the suffering of the Palestinian people who still live under occupation and suffer from siege and destruction.
In a speech on Tuesday before the Extraordinary Arab summit in Cairo, Egypt, Al Sharaa said that in Syria, they consider this call to be a threat not only to the Palestinian people, but to the entire Arab nation, because it touches on the essence of the Palestinian cause, which is the cause of every Arab.
In the same context, he added that the displacement of the people of Gaza at this time, under any name or justification, is a practical application of a broader displacement project that seeks to uproot the Palestinians from their land, which is unacceptable in any way.
On the other hand, the Syrian President pointed out that Syria's return to the Arab League comes at a very important time, as the Arab world is suffering from many political, economic, and humanitarian challenges. Al Sharaa said that the return of Syria, represented by its Syrian people, to the Arab League after years of absence is a historic moment that reflects the common will to strengthen Arab solidarity and consolidate the concepts of unity and joint action in the face of the challenges faced.
He pointed out that the Israeli entity, since its occupation of the Syrian Golan in 1967, has not stopped violating the rights of the Syrian people, stressing that the aggressive policies of the occupation are not only a violation of Syrian sovereignty, but a direct threat to security and peace in the entire region.
He added that Syria is fully committed to its commitment to the 1974 agreement on the separation of forces, which was reached under the auspices of the United Nations, and it is unacceptable for the Israeli side to continue to ignore these agreements and undermine stability in the region by escalating military attacks and increasing settlement on Syrian territory.
He also urged Arab countries and the international community to support Syrian rights in pressuring Israel to withdraw immediately from southern Syria and on the need to put an end to the Israeli occupation policies that threaten regional security and stability. (QNA)
