Hyderabad: Secretaries from multiple districts of the Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) appeared before the crime investigation department (CID) police in Hyderabad to provide statements in connection with an alleged financial scandal involving the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA).The inquiry is on the alleged misappropriation of nearly Rs 12 crore funds released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for cricket development over the past decade. The district secretaries submitted papers to CID officials, claiming that these funds were shown as debited under the names of HCA district units but were allegedly misused. The secretaries demanded criminal proceedings and a thorough investigation into the role of several former HCA office-bearers and district secretaries over the last ten years. Those named in the complaint include Chekuri Venkat (Khammam), Chaganti Srinivas (Warangal), Kodati Pradeep (Adilabad), M. Rajasekhar (Mahbubnagar), A. Rajender Reddy (Medak), Venkat Reddy (Nizamabad) and Syed Ameenuddin (Nalgonda). The TCA office-bearers have called on the authorities to register criminal cases and initiate strict action against those responsible, stressing the need for full accountability and transparency in the management of public cricket funds.
