Allow this to awaken your soul ahead of season 4 of Ted Lasso: Jason Sudeikis and costars Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, and Brendan Hunt crashed a Mumford & Sons concert to perform the show's theme song on stage.
The stars surprised attendees at the band's concert stop at Azura Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, Kan., on Thursday night, taking the stage to perform the track alongside frontman Marcus Mumford, a composer on the show who also co-wrote and performs the theme song.
Waddingham and Temple could be seen dancing around the stage in clips circulating online, while series co-creator and star Sudeikis is captured assisting with vocals.
Production for the surprise season 4 began in Kansas City earlier this week, with additional filming also set to take place in London. Sudeikis (as titular coach Ted Lasso), Waddingham (Rebecca Welton), Temple (Keeley Jones), and Hunt (Coach Beard) are set to reprise their roles alongside returning cast members Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent) and Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins).
Season 4 of the Apple TV+ juggernaut, centered on Sudeikis' fish-out-of-water American football coach and his management of a British soccer team, will follow Ted as he returns to Richmond to coach a second division women’s football team. "Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would," per the logline.

Sudeikis' friendship with Mumford dates back to his days on Saturday Night Live; the folk rock band has served as musical guest several times on the show, first in 2012 and then again in 2015 and 2018. Sudeikis also notably starred in the band's 2013 music video for "Hopeless Wanderer" alongside fellow funnymen Jason Bateman, Ed Helms, and Will Forte.
Mumford told Variety in 2021 that it only took two days to put together the catchy Ted Lasso theme song alongside fellow musician and composer Tom Howe.
"I think often those are the best songs, the ones that happen quickest, where you don’t have too much time to ruminate and try to perfect it, because it’s never going to be perfect," Mumford said. "It’s got to just have heart.”
