TED Lasso villain Nick Mohammed has signed up to the BBC’s Celebrity Traitors.
Nick, who played kit man turned rival coach Nathan 'Nate' Shelley in the hit Apple TV+ series, told pals he is heading up to Scotland in the next few days.
A source said: “Nick is so excited about being cast in The Traitors and cannot wait to get to Ardross Castle.
“On Ted Lasso, his character Nathan was a really surprising villain, absolutely no one saw it coming.
“Nick is going to bring an element of that to The Traitors.
“He has his game plan and he is going to really play the game.
“Nick has never done a reality TV show before but he is throwing everything he has at this.
“He is in it to win it.”
Nick found fame as a comedian, appearing on shows including Eight Out Of Ten Cats, before making it big in acting.
He landed a plum role in Ted Lasso alongside Jason Sudekis and Hannah Waddingham, which landed him two Emmy nominations.
Of playing villainous Nathan, Nick, 44, said: “I’d never really played a villain before so it’s new and thrilling.
“It’s a real challenge and a delight as an actor, especially in a supporting role, to kind of go on such a journey with the character.
To start off as one thing and sort of end up as another and that has been really fun.”
Nick is joining stars including Stephen Fry, Kate Garraway and Alan Carr on Celebrity Traitors, which is the BBC’s first famous spin-off of the show.
The Sun previously revealed Olympic diver Tom Daley, singer Paloma Faith and former rugby player Joe Marler were also taking part.
A spokesperson for the show said: “The Traitors is a game that includes lies and deception, thus it would be foolhardy for any Faithful to speculate before the game has begun.”
Filming will take place at Ardross Castle, near Alness in the Scottish Highlands.
Last month The Sun revealed the BBC were implementing military style measures to try and keep their stars away from prying eyes.
A TV insider added: “For a show with secrecy and shocking plot twists at its heart, navigating the celebrity version has been a real puzzler.
“Execs have worked really hard to lock down every inch of the production.
“Instead of a simple travel process which could be open to leaks, celebrities will all arrive via various methods of transport.
“And there’s a no-fly zone already in place over Ardross Castle and the surrounding area to stop any preparations being snapped, or any of the action during filming.”
