The 11 former Rangers and Celtic stars bidding for league title glory around the world
@Source: thescottishsun.co.uk
MOST of these players experienced the thrill of a title race when they were playing for one of Glasgow's big two.
Now they all have their eyes set on winning league silverware this season - with various clubs across the continent.
From being the key man on the pitch to leading their side from the dugout - there are those who are still playing while others are chasing managerial success.
SunSport takes a look at ELEVEN former Rangers and Celtic stars who have league titles in their sights at their current clubs abroad.
Albian Ajeti - Basel (CHAMPIONS of Switzerland)
He won his first league title with Basel in the 2014/15 season.
Now Ajeti has made it two in his homeland as he scored eight goals and provided six assists to help end the historic club's EIGHT year wait for league glory.
Basel hadn't won the Super League since the 2014/15 season but Saturday's 5-2 win over Lugano sealed the deal once again.
Ajeti opened the scoring in that game after just four minutes but he was shown a red card before half-time after picking up two bookings.
Jeremy Toljan - Sassuolo (CHAMPIONS of Italian Serie B)
Some Celtic fans might have forgotten all about him after his disappointing loan spell in 2019.
But the German right-back will be fondly remembered by Sassuolo fans after he played a key role in helping the team return to Serie A.
Toljan, now 30, started 31 league games - only missing six - but could be absent from their final clash against Frosinone through injury.
Surprisingly he isn't the only full-back at the club who has played in Scottish football.
Former Hibs youngster Josh Doig is their first choice defender at the other side of the pitch.
Mohamed Elyounoussi - Copenhagen (1st in Danish Superliga)
The Norwegian has won titles in his homeland, Scotland and Switzerland.
He could tick off Denmark this season as well as Copenhagen are leading the top flight by one point with just two games left to play.
Celtic fans will be hoping it's their closest rivals Midtjylland who come out on top though as that would confirm the Hoops' status as a seeded club for the Champions League qualifying play-off in August.
Also in the Copenhagen team is Jordan Larsson - son of Celtic legend Henrik - who's netted seven times for the club this season.
Giorgos Giakoumakis - Cruz Azul (play-off phase in Mexican Liga MX)
Now this one is a bit trickier.
Unlike other divisions the Mexican top flight is settled by a play-off following the initial league campaign.
Giakoumakis' Cruz Azul were top of the league after the first half of the campaign but finished third going into the play-off stage.
They beat Leon over two legs in the quarter-final and will face Club America in the semi-final, with either Tigres or Toluca lying in wait should they reach the final at the end of May.
Robbie Keane (manager) - Ferencvaros (1st in Hungarian top flight)
Keane, 44, has already lifted his first title as a manager in Israel.
Now he's looking to do the same in Hungary with Ferencvaros - who sit three points clear at the top with just two games left to go.
Similar to Elyounoussi's Copenhagen, Celtic fans will be hoping for a shock collapse in the final two games.
Should one of Ferencvaros, Copenhagen or Dinamo Zagreb fail to win their respective titles then Celtic will be guaranteed a seeded spot for the Champions League play-off.
Myles Beerman - Sliema Wanderers (CHAMPIONS of Maltese Premier League)
Much like Toljan at Celtic, Rangers fans would be excused for not remembering Beerman, who played just nine times for the Light Blues.
It didn't work out for the Maltese star in Glasgow but he's a big name over in his homeland, having made over 100 appearances for Sliema Wanderers since joining the club in 2021.
He lifted the Maltese Cup last year and has now added the league title to his collection after Sliema clinched it on goal difference.
Alfredo Morelos - Atletico Nacional (1st in Colombian Primera A)
You might already be familiar with the Colombian league format following our coverage of Morelos' unique domestic treble win last season.
The Colombian league format is very similar to the aforementioned Mexican structure with the division split into two sections.
Morelos' side are sitting at the top of the pile with just two games until the second part gets underway and it looks like they could go all the way once again.
Atletico Nacional have lost just three of their 18 league games and Morelos has scored five of the goals.
Florian Kamberi - FC Rapperswil-Jona (1st in Swiss Promotion League (third tier)
He only joined his current club in March.
But Kamberi looks set to add another trophy to his collection as his new team sit top of the Swiss third division with just two games left.
It's a very tight title race though as only one point separates Rapperswill and third-placed Biel-Bienne, with second-placed Kriens also just a point behind.
Kamberi has starred 11 times and scored one goal since arriving two months ago.
Malik Tillman - PSV Eindhoven (2nd in Dutch Eredivisie)
He lifted the Dutch top flight last season.
The USA international is now looking to make it back-to-back title wins as just one point separates PSV and Ajax at the top of the league.
Just two games remain and if Tillman's side come out on top then it could be his last trophy in Eindhoven as he's attracting interest from top clubs across Europe.
Sheyi Ojo - Maribor (2nd in Slovenian Prva Liga)
He was once one of the biggest prospects at Anfield.
But after SEVEN separate loan spells - including a stint at Rangers in the 2019/20 season - Ojo left Liverpool in 2022 without winning a trophy at any club.
The pacy winger is now trying to get his career back on track in Slovenia after a difficult few years in the game.
And he could finish this season with his first league silverware as Maribor sit just four points behind Olimpija with two games left.
Gennaro Gattuso (manager) - Hajduk Split (3rd in Croatian HNL)
At one stage of the season it looked a certainty that Gattuso would clinch his first league title in the dugout.
Hajduk spent 13 weeks at the top of the Croatian league table but recently suffered a major collapse and now haven't won in SIX games.
The recent drop in form saw them fall from title challengers to third place but there's a chance - albeit very slim - they could still come out on top.
They're five points Rijeka with two games left but they face the leaders on Sunday in a clash which is now considered do or die for the Italian.
