ITV's Bradley Walsh welcomed four hopefuls to The Chase during Thursday's show. The episode, which was a repeat from 2022, saw one contestant leave the host speechless.
During the programme,22-year-old Ella went head-to-head with Mark 'The Beast' Labbett. Before her cash builder round, Bradley delved into Ella's background, learning that she had an impressive sporting history.
She told the ITV host: "For the last 10 years, I've represented Wales in cricket, so that's what I do in my spare time."
Bradley expressed his surprise, exclaiming: "Have you?! I'm not being rude. I don't even think they have a men's team, have they? You are a one in a million, brilliant."
Ella then proceeded to rack up £6,000 in her cash builder round, impressing Bradley with her breadth of knowledge, reports Bristol Live.
Admitting to exceeding her own expectations, Ella faced Mark's offers, which included a tempting high offer of £41,000. However, she chose to stick with her earned amount.
Despite a valiant effort, Ella was caught by Mark just before the final chase. Viewers were quick to praise Ella's performance, with one commenting: "Owww she deserved to go through bless her."
Another person said: "For just 22 years old, she's a bright young lady!" Someone else wrote: "Unlucky there #thechase."
Only Patrick and Stewart reached the final round of The Chase, bringing together a sum of £12,000, which earned them a two-step head start in the ultimate challenge.
Given two-minutes on the timer, they successfully answered 13 questions, setting a target of 15 points for Mark to beat.
In an edge-of-the-seat conclusion, Mark clinched victory over the pair with a mere 12 seconds to spare. While Bradley commended the participants for their efforts, Mark commented on his success.
He said: "My prediction was half right, I said they'd get 17, they got 15. But, boy, did they miss the girls because you'd be walking back with the money. I got away with that one!"
The Chase continues weekdays on ITV from 5pm.
