The clubs Kieran Tierney 'rejected' for Celtic transfer return revealed including Everton, Juventus and Leverkusen
@Source: dailyrecord.co.uk
Kieran Tierney rejected offers from big clubs across Europe in order to seal his Celtic return, according to a report. The left back will leave Arsenal this summer and return to his boyhood club, six-and-a-half years after leaving in a £25million deal. The Gunners opted against their option of extending Tierney 's contract for a further 12 months, the Scotland star having spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad after falling out of favour under Mikel Arteta. He has been used more often in recent months - mainly out of necessity - but will make the move to Parkhead after agreeing a pre-contract homecoming. Now the Herald reports that Tierney had offers from England, Germany, Italy and Spain but all were knocked back in favour of linking up with Brendan Rodgers once again. Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen were keen to land the 27-year-old, while Everton attempted to keep him in the English Premier League. International teammates Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour have taken Serie A by storm with Napoli, while Lewis Ferguson is the main man at Bologna. But Tierney opted not to follow in their footsteps by joining Juventus. Sevilla's offer of a return to La Liga was also rejected. All of which will be music to the ears of Celtic fans as one of their own prepares to don the Hoops again as he enters the prime years of his career.
