The hidden gem homes you can buy for less than £150,000 revealed by property experts: From a thatched cottage in an unexpected place to city centre flats... but move fast!
@Source: dailymail.co.uk
The average house price in the UK is currently £268,400 according to Zoopla, and a week doesn’t go by without some crazy property sale.
Indeed, an £80million penthouse in Knightsbridge was recently featured on Channel 4’s Britain’s Most Expensive Houses.
The good news, though, is that it is still possible to nab a lovely property in the United Kingdom for as little as £150,000 – and often a lot less.
Focusing less on the expensive areas of the country (which are typically London, the home counties and the South East of England) is a great place to start when looking for the cheapest properties. In England, try Bradford, Middlesborough, Grimsby, Sunderland, Liverpool, Burnley and Hartlepool. For Scotland, property prices are typically lower in East and North Ayrshire, Inverclyde and West Dumbartonshire. In Wales, look at Blaenau Gwent, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf, and Londonderry and Draperstown in Northern Ireland.
However, finding a bargain in more sought-after locations is certainly not out of the question. Inexpensive properties often crop up in the least obvious places, perhaps as they have been repossessed, need considerable work or the owner requires a quick sale.
Here is a selection of attractive homes around the country that are currently for sale with an asking price of £150,000 or .
