The Masters Final Round Odds, Picks: Can Rory McIlroy Hold Off DeChambeau?
@Source: newsweek.com
The final round of this year's Masters is shaping up to be one to remember.Both Rory McIlroy (-12) and Bryson DeChambeau (-10) have been outstanding this weekend. Entering the final round on Sunday afternoon, it'd be a shocker if one of them didn't leave Augusta with the Green Jacket.If there's one player positioned to overtake both McIlroy and DeChambeau, it's Canadian Corey Conners (-8). Oddsmakers, however, (understandably) see this as a battle between McIlroy and DeChambeau.Betting Odds to Win Masters Entering Sunday Rory McIlory Bryson DeChambeau Corey Conners After Conners, Ludvig Åberg and Patrick Reed are T4 (-6), followed by Jason Day, Shane Lowry, Scottie Scheffler and Justin Rose, who are all T6 (-5).The door will be open for a rally by any of those players if McIlroy, DeChambeau and Conners all stumble today. But with each listed at +4000 or longer to win The Masters, there's not a ton to say about Åberg, Reed, Day, Lowry, Scheffler or Rose.How to Watch The MastersMcIlroy and DeChambeau are paired up for the final round, with both set to tee off at 2:30 p.m. ET (TV: CBS; streaming: Masters.com/Masters app).How to Bet The Final Round of The MastersThe betting favorites entering this tournament were McIlroy and Scheffler.Sure enough, Sunday looks like a two-horse race, but it's DeChambeau instead of Scheffler standing between McIlroy and his first major win since 2014.McIlroy, as you may have heard, is also seeking to become just the sixth player to ever complete a career Grand Sland by winning all four major championships. Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods are the only players who have pulled this off.The 35-year-old McIlroy is looking to not only win his first major since 2014, but also vanquish both his past demons at Augusta -- where he's finished T5 or better four times, including a second-place finish in 2022 -- and DeChambeau.At 31, DeChambeau is a two-time major winner. He finished sixth at Augusta a year ago in by far the best Masters showing of his career to date.DeChambeau and McIlroy memorably clashed a year ago at the U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2, where the former finished one stroke better than the latter to take home his second career major.Best Bet to Win Masters: Bryson DeChambeauBest odds (as of Sunday morning): +260 at FanDuelGiven his history and how close he is to the career grand slam, McIlroy is the one under the most pressure here.He's easy to resist at around -200 at most sportsbooks given how well DeChambeau finished the third round on Saturday afternoon, with birdies on 15, 16 and 18 to finish the day -3 despite three early bogeys.McIlroy has been phenomenal all weekend, with the exception of two double-bogeys on Thursday that spoiled what would have been a great start. He bounced back by shooting 66 on both Friday and Saturday. Obviously, if he's anywhere near that level today, it's hard to see DeChambeau catching him.But DeChambeau offers a ton of upside after shooting 69, 68 and 69 in Rounds 1, 2 and 3, especially if he can avoid mistakes today (DeChambeau has racked up 18 birdies in this tournament, but he's also had eight bogeys).McIlroy, on the other hand, has just two bogeys total over his last 36 holes after his disastrous finish on Thursday. And he's hit plenty of birdies of his own: 12, to be exact, not to mention the three eagles he's recorded.I see this one coming down to the last couple holes, and I have a hard time resisting DeChambeau at longer than +250 to close just a two-stroke gap.
