@Source: newsweek.com
Playing at TPC Sawgrass can be a tough test of golf for any player, and when the weather is bad, the round can turn into hell. That is exactly what happened to Jordan Spieth, who could not hide his frustration at times.The clearest example came on the 16th hole, when the 3-time major winner was caught on television throwing his club to the side in anger after sending his second shot into the water.Things did not get much better for Spieth after his outburst. After taking his penalty shot, he sent his fourth shot into the bunker on the left side of the 16th green, managed to get out and leave the ball six feet from the hole, but missed the putt and ended up carding a double bogey.However, the round was not an unmitigated disaster for the Dallas, Texas native. In the midst of the weather conditions that prevailed during the third round of The PLAYERS Championship, his score of 1-over 73 tied for sixth-best of the day.His Moving Day performance included five birdies, four bogeys and the double on 16th. As a result, he moved up three spots on the leaderboard and is now tied for 33rd.The 31-year-old carded scores of 70 and 71 in the first two rounds. After 54 holes, his main problems have been in approaching the greens and specially in his putting, where he has lost 0.75 and 2.1 strokes, respectively.Jordan Spieth has struggled a lot at TPC Sawgrass. He has missed six cuts in 11 previous appearances at The PLAYERS Championship (one of which was suspended), and his best finish was 11 years ago when he tied for fourth in 2014.Spieth got a late start to the 2025 season after undergoing surgery to repair a wrist injury in the summer of 2024. His start couldn't have been better, with two top-10s in four events (one missed cut), including a tie for fourth at the Phoenix Open.More Golf: The PLAYERS: Biggest PGA Tour Names to Miss the Cut at TPC Sawgrass
