TMRW Sports, whose owners include Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, has retained the law firm Proskauer to explore expansion opportunities for the Tomorrow Golf League (TGL). TMRW Sports is the primary owner and organizer of the new high-tech simulator golf league.According to a report in the Sports Business Journal, the first step in TGL's expansion would be to add a new team sometime in the next two seasons. Six teams competed in the inaugural season, representing Florida, Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston and New York. The report also noted that the league's regular season was closely watched by several major sports organizations. TGL games have been attended by representatives of the NFL's Minnesota Vikings and Baltimore Ravens, the NBA's Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards, the NHL's Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins, and the MLB's San Francisco Giants, among many others.Proskauer is one of the nation's most prestigious law firms, with more than 800 lawyers in 11 offices around the world. Among its many accolades, the firm has been named 'Secondaries Law Firm of the Year' by Secondaries Investors and 'Law Firm of the Year in Transactions' by Private Debt Investor, both for 2024.TGL's expansion plans are nothing new. From the inception of the idea, it was suggested that the inaugural season would be the first step in a much larger concept. From the very first match of the TGL season, Mike McCarley, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's partner at TMRW Sports, confirmed to Sports Business Journal that expansion was in the league's plans. It includes the eventual hiring of LIV Golf players when the time is right."Oh yeah. Yes, absolutely," McCarley said back then. "But the reality is, we have a good business in what we have right now."The businessman himself noted that they have plans for the 'good business' beyond golf. Other sports are not off the table for TMRW."Are there sports that have truly global big stars that you can lean into and just reimagine or rethink and do it with the biggest stars in the world? That's the key," he said.Throughout the inaugural season of the TGL, there has been much talk about the possibility of adding new venues similar to the SoFi Center, adding new teams, and recruiting female stars to join teams with their male counterparts. The TGL regular season ended a week ago with Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's teams eliminated from the playoffs. The semifinals will be played March 17-18, and the finals will be played March 25.More Golf: Tiger Woods' New Guy Got Exactly the Call You Think After Maiden PGAT Win
