After completing his military service, Jin launched his own YouTube show, Run Jin, where he usually hosts South Korean celebrities. In a surprising twist, however, the BTS star recently sat down for an interview with none other than Hollywood icon Tom Cruise. This unexpected crossover between K-pop and Hollywood took place while Tom and the Mission: Impossible team were in South Korea to promote what is believed to be the final film in the franchise, The Final Reckoning. This marks the first time Jin and Cruise will share the screen, and the special segment is set to drop next week, sending fans into a frenzy of anticipation.
While Jin and Tom have not officially confirmed the news, their teams recently shared that the collaboration is happening. A representative from HYBE told Dispatch, “Tom Cruise recently participated in a filming for Jin’s web variety show Run Jin. The episode will be revealed at a later date.”
Another source close to the Mission Impossible team stated, “Tom Cruise had filmed for Run Jin. The footage will be released soon via the channel.”
For the special South Korean tour, Tom Cruise was accompanied by his Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning co-stars Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff, Hayley Atwell, and Greg Tarzan Davis. Director Christopher McQuarrie was also part of the team. During their two-day visit, the cast attended a press conference, walked the red carpet, hosted a special screening, and interacted with fans. Interestingly, the team had also visited Korea in 2023 to promote the previous installment, Dead Reckoning. This recent trip marked Tom Cruise’s 12th visit to South Korea.

While Tom Cruise is set to join Jin on his show, director Christopher McQuarrie participated in Master’s Talk, a special event with South Korean filmmaker Choi Dong-hoon, known for The Thieves and Assassination. Meanwhile, Simon Pegg and Greg Tarzan Davis made a playful appearance on Epik High’s YouTube channel.
In Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Ethan Hunt (played by Tom Cruise) and his IMF team face their most daunting mission yet, as the fate of humanity hangs in the balance. This is the first film in the Mission: Impossible series to be invited to the Cannes International Film Festival. The movie is set to hit theatres on May 17.
