Tom Holland Says He'll 'Take a Bit More Time Off in 2027' to Avoid Getting 'Burned Out'

Tom Holland has plenty of work in the pipeline but is keeping an eye on preventing burnout too.
Speaking to British GQ about being the new face of the Prada Paradigme fragrance, the Spider-Man star, 29, said he feels “really blessed to be at a point in my career where I can take time off, reset, and come back ready to go.”
The English actor continued: “You can't be in every movie, and you can't do your best work when you're burnt out. What I've learnt is that it's important to set boundaries — to be mindful about overworking.”
Holland has spoken out in recent years about his mental health upkeep, which has included taking breaks from acting and social media and quitting drinking in 2022.
In June 2023, the actor-producer revealed that he was taking a year off from screen work after a difficult experience making his Apple TV+ series The Crowded Room.
Now, he told GQ, “I've got a slightly busy year next year.” Holland and Zendaya, who got engaged in January, star in two upcoming films: director Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey (costarring Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson and more) and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
After all that, the Uncharted star indicated, “I'll probably take a bit more time off in 2027. We'll see.”

Holland has also teased the possibility of stepping back from the spotlight entirely — once he and his fiancée start a family.
"When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore," he told Men's Health in January, adding that all he'll do is go golfing and be a parent. "Golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth."
Holland will play Telemachus in The Odyssey, due in theaters on July 17, 2026, and has American Speed, costarring Austin Butler, in the works. He’ll return as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, in theaters on July 31, 2026.
