A "truly unique" opportunity to buy a German Gothic-style church in Scotland has come up. Rerrick Church, which is located in the Dumfries and Galloway village of Dundrennan, was designed by W. R. Corson and completed in 1865. It is set to go under the hammer at a guide price of £80,000. The historic church is accessed by double storm doors at the base of the clock tower, which lead to a hallway. This offers access to the main area of the church, with several of the original pews remaining. Above the hallway there is a gallery, which offers lovely views out over the property. The church had an annexe constructed later, featuring a kitchen, a toilet, and an office space. According to sellers Auction House Scotland, Rerrick Church presents "an extraordinary development opportunity". The property could be converted into residential or holiday accommodation, subject to consent. Dundrennan is located roughly five miles east of Kirkcudbright, and is home to a population of around just 230 people. The village is most notable for the ruins of Dundrennan Abbey, while the area is renowned for its fishing, shooting, golf, hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian activities. Auction House Scotland commented: "The current owner had positive discussions with the local authority in regard to developing the property for the above end use. This will inevitably attract significant levels of interest and early expression of interest is highly recommended." Rerrick Church will go under the hammer on May 15 at the Radisson RED in Glasgow.
