Two drivers have died after a head-on collision near Melbourne after a vehicle sped past a police operation. State Highway Patrol officers were stopping vehicles on Diggers Rest-Coimadai Road in Toolern Vale north west of Melbourne when they saw a car speed past. It then collided head-on with a second vehicle travelling in the opposite direction. They have not been formally identified A passenger of the first car was rushed to hospital with minor injuries. Police are investigating and are appealing for CCTV or dashcam footage.
