UPDATE: 2:50 p.m.
The Lower Similkameen Indian Band is reminding the public to stay clear of the Placer Creek wildfire area.
"A reminder to please give a lot of space to the air crews, ground crews, and heavy equipment so that their safety can be paramount," the LSIB wrote in a press release issued Monday afternoon.
"DO NOT enter into an active fire incident for any reason. It puts you, and others at risk and may force the shutdown of suppression and support operations."
Extreme fire behaviour has taken place this afternoon ostensibly due to high winds that entered the region.
UPDATE: 12:50 p.m.
The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen has rescinded Princeton area evacuation orders for the August Lake Wildfire.
Just after 12:30 p.m., the RDOS removed the Electoral H evacuation orders and amended the evacuation alert.
The rescinded evacuation order is affecting these areas:
South of Highway 3
West to Amber Hill Road / Darcy Mountain Road adjacent of Sewer Treatment Plant
East to Willies Ranch Road
Princeton Golf Club and properties on Taylor Mill Drive
Meanwhile, an evacuation alert has been issued for the Young Creek, roughly 28 kilometres from Ashnola Road.
The alert, meaning residents should be prepared you to evacuate when/if notified is affecting these areas:
Cathedral Lake Lodge
Lake of the Woods Campground
Twin Buttes Campground
Cathedral Lake
Pyramid Lake
Ladyslipper Lake
"BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) and local firefighters will be working in the community," reads an RDOS release.
"Please be mindful and considerate of these dedicated workers as they carry out their important tasks. Please continue to be vigilant in the backcountry or wherever you are travelling."
UPDATE: 12:15 p.m.
The Eastgate Placer Creek wildfire has now swelled to 2,500 hectares in size since fire igniting Saturday.
According to a BC Wildfire Service update, 23 personnel are now on site, with heavy equipment, and a helicopter tackling the blaze.
"As a cold front passes through, we are expecting to see elevated winds gusting up to 40 to 60 km/h that could increase throughout the day."
The Eastgate fire is rated Rank 2, which shows low vigour surface fire with a slow rate of spread.
Meanwhile, BCWS is reporting rural Princeton area's August Lake wildfire remains at 14 hectares.
Crews are prioritizing the north and east flanks of the fire, while later tackling the south flank. There will be a wet line established.
The August Lake blaze is rate Rank 1 to 2, which is a smouldering ground fire with slow spread.

Two wildfires in the Similkameen continue to burn out of control Monday morning.
The August Lake wildfire, which sparked Saturday and is located near Princeton, in rural Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen Area H. The fire is not threatening the town, however there are evacuation orders and alerts in place within Area H.
The fire is estimated at 14 hectares in size as of the most recent update.
An RDOS Emergency Operations Centre is expected to provide an update on the status of evacuations on Monday at 10:30 a.m.
Further south on Lower Similkameen Indian Band land, the Placer Lake wildfire, which also sparked Saturday, is now at 725 hectares and a BC Wildfire Service Incident Management Team will be taking over command and control on site.
"Today's incoming weather will hopefully bring a lot of humidity with it, which should aid in working indirect attacks on the fire. Should low humidity, strong dry winds, and heat prevail, it will be difficult to have crews anywhere except the flanks of the fire," reads an update from LSIB Communications Monday morning.
"Our community at Ashnola Village and surrounding area has seen smoke cloud the Ashnola Valley. Our community in Chopaka and our neighbours in Keremeos and Cawston and further have seen ash falling to the ground. Please remain vigilant with watching out for each other. As more information becomes available, we will share it with our family upriver, our community, and our neighbours."
Smoke also filled the sky in the Osoyoos and Oliver areas Sunday, casting an orange pall over the region.
The LSIB assures the public that "numerous discussions between neighbouring governments are underway" as to best practices and thanks all the emergency crews helping fight the fire.
