V.I. SCHOOL SPORTS ROUNDUP: Hawks, Volts both undefeated in STTJIAA varsity soccer

TUESDAY’S RESULTS Varsity Soccer Charlotte Amalie High School 8, All Saints Cathedral School 0: The Hawks remained undefeated in St. Thomas-St. John Interscholastic Athletic Association league play with a dominating win over the Vikings. Elie Napoleon and LandsPaul De’jeffry Auguste had two goals each for Charlotte Amalie High (2-0-0, six points), with three other players adding one goal each. Napoleon scored in the sixth and 21st minutes as the Hawks bolted to a 5-0 lead by the halftime break. Davidson Gustinvil added a goal in the 28th minute, Herve Omilus scored in the 30th minute, and Charlotte Amalie High got an own goal from an All Saints defender in the 17th minute. Auguste then helped put the win over the Vikings (0-0-2) away for the Hawks with goals in the 61st and 65th minutes. Jean-Wilson Cinthima also scored in the 52nd minute. Cinthima and All Saints’ Gabriel King will both have to sit out the next match after getting red cards in the 71st minute. Virgin Islands Montessori School and International Academy 3, Antilles School 2: The Volts came out on top against the Hurricanes in a battle of the St. Thomas-St. John IAA’s private schools. Amorie Carty had two goals and Vinesh Naik added one goal for Virgin Islands Montessori (1-0-0, three points) in winning its league opener. Harrisin Oriel and Dillon Webbe each had one goal for Antilles School (0-0-3). MONDAY’S RESULTS Elementary Boys Soccer Free Will Baptist Christian School 1, Good Hope Country Day School 0: The Knights pulled out a close win over the Panthers in their St. Croix IAA league match. Chaze Griffin scored the lone goal of the match for Free Will Baptist.
