Victor Wanyama set for Celtic reunion with Neil Lennon at Dunfermline in blockbuster Scottish football return
@Source: dailyrecord.co.uk
Former Celtic hero Victor Wanyama is nearing a sensational return to Scottish football with Dunfermline. Neil Lennon has quickly got to work at East End Park and is set to bring the Kenyan international to the Scottish Championship strugglers until the end of the season. The pair worked together at Celtic during the midfielder's two-year stint in Glasgow - before Wanyama made the move to Southampton. That would catch the eye of Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur - where he spent four years. The 33-year-old has been without a club since leaving CF Montreal at the end of last season's Major League Soccer campaign - with his last appearances for the Canadian side coming in July 2024. Wanyama will now end his 12-year absence from Scottish football with Dunfermline as he undergoes a medical - and Record Sport understands the Pars beat Queens Park Rangers to a deal. The midfielder lifted two titles at Celtic under Lennon as well as the Scottish Cup - while scoring in the famous Champions League victory over Barcelona in 2012. During his time at Tottenham, he came close to lifting Europe's elite trophy in 2019. However, he would have to settle for a runners-up medal after defeat in the final to Liverpool.
