Watch: Game Faces And Lot Of Jokes In India's Headshots Day Before England Tests
@Source: news18.com
The Indian men’s Test team is all ready for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy’s first Test from June 20 in Leeds. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video of the team’s headshots session for the rubber, where most squad members stepped on one-by-one to get their photos clicked — some with their bats, others with the red cherries, some putting up game faces, while some doing extra-excited celebrations. In the video, debutant Sai Sudharsan was seen visibly finding it difficult to look animated, and his reactions made everyone laugh. At the start, his Gujarat Titans (GT) teammate Mohammed Siraj made another mention to his bowling partner Jasprit Bumrah, hilariously calling him the ‘one and only’ in the middle of a conversation. We also saw glimpses of Shubman Gill in the Test blazer. Shubman Gill aiming to set cultural standards The new skipper Gill, was recently asked about his goals with the Indian team. The 25-year-old remarked that more than trophies, his aim would be to help build the right ‘culture’. ‘Apart from all the, I think silverware and all the trophies aside, I would ideally would like to build a culture where everyone is very secure and happy. I know it can be a very difficult environment, especially with all the competition and all the number of matches that we play, different squads coming in. But if I’m able to do that, I think that would be my goal,” Gill said on Sky Sports. “When I came into the team, the average age was around 34–35. Now it’s about 26–27. So many young players, so many exciting players. I think the most exciting part about having a young team is that you can mold the team or the culture—drive it in the direction you want the Indian cricket team culture to go. This is a conversation I’ve had with (Rahul) Dravid bhai a couple of times: ideally, in the next five, seven, ten, or even fifteen years, where do we want the Indian team culture to be? And like you said, having a young team makes that process a lot more possible,” he added.
