Watch: Jofra Archer's Sensational Caught-And-Bowled At Lord's Stuns India
@Source: news18.com
Jofra Archer truly brought the heat to the Lord’s Cricket Ground on Monday. After taking the big wicket of Rishabh Pant with an in-swinger that nipped away to take the off-stump, he came up with a sensational caught-and-bowled to dismiss all-rounder Washington Sundar, only a few balls later.
The second wicket happened on the fourth ball of the 25th over. He hurled a pacy (around 140 kph), full ball straight at the middle-and-leg stump, and the left-hander had no option but to play at it. The ball seemed to stop on the pitch just enough to make Sundar go early, which resulted in a leading edge to Archer’s right.
The pacer, motivated as ever, showed brilliant reflexes to stretch his right hand and pluck it away from his body.

Archer’s wicket of Pant was equally good. The flamboyant Indian wicketkeeper had hit him for a boundary by stepping out and driving straight with one hand, and the pacer replied by going wide of the crease, making the ball angle in and seam away to hit the top of his off-stump.
He gave a send-off to both Indian batters, squeezing out all his anger into motivation to hit the best line and lengths for the pitch. All of this happening in his first Test since 2021 makes it even more special.
Archer had racked up even more pace in the first innings of the Test, constantly hitting 90mph. However, that spell yielded just one wicket because it wasn’t as accurate and didn’t consistently target the stumps as much. On Monday, Archer seemed to figure out that the wide-of-the-crease angle to target the poles was the perfect plan on the Lord’s pitch with ample natural variation to confuse the batters.
Ben Stokes did the same from the other end to dismiss KL Rahul and Akash Deep (on Day 4). That left Ravindra Jadeja and Nitish Kumar Reddy as the last two recognised batters with the score at 82/7.
