Wallabies and Queensland Reds flanker Fraser McReight is among the players that need to be heavily scrutinised by the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua in the Shop N Save Super Rugby clash at the HFC Bank Stadium, Suva, on Saturday.
Drua head coach Glen Jackson did not mince his words that the Drua loose-forwards have been tasked on the taking the lead roles in keeping McReight at bay.
“Fraser McReight especially in his turn-over and we’ve got to look after him,” Jackson said.
“Their 9s and 10s have been going really well. So, they’re really the talisman of their team.”
He added that the Drua would clearly work on exploiting the Reds defence.
“It is the line-breaks around how we’re going to look after them.
There is a onus on our loose forwards to make sure they work out.
“Then our loose-forwards, obviously with Motikiai (Murray) out, we’ll just have to make a few changes around what that looks like in terms of the mixture of getting that right around what the Reds have.”
Jackson banks on Isoa Tuwai who has been going good for the side.
“Obviously, at seven. I thought Kitione Salawa had an opportunity at eight. He had 17, 18 carries in the weekend. He’d put his hand up.
“The good thing is, well, we’re going to try and balance as well as around what Elia brought when he comes off the bench and is it worth it starting or off the bench.
Elia like Salawa’s obviously played a heap of minutes and he’s playing really well.”
The match kicks-off at 2.05pm.
