THIS is the moment a married teacher is arrested in front of her husband over the alleged sexual abuse of one of her 15-year-old students. Christina Formella, 30, has been accused of molesting the boy after the teen's mom found disturbing messages on his phone, prosecutors claim. Shocking footage shows the moment Formella was arrested in Chicago, Illinois as she got out of her car next to her horrified partner. Newly released video shows her being approached by police moments after parking up outside her home. Within an instant she raises her hands in the air as the officer informs her of the arrest before placing her in handcuffs. Formella, wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans, is seen being asked to turn around as the cop put her arms behind her back and formally detains her. At this point her husband asks: "Is she going somewhere?" Footage goes on to shows the teacher in the back of a police car as she begins to ask questions. She says to the officer in the front seat: "Excuse me, is my husband coming with?" It is revealed that her partner, who appears to have no idea about the allegations against his wife, is now in contact with police. Formella then pleads with the police to let her see him as she says: "I really would prefer that my husband is with me." As the journey to the local station continues, Formella continues to try and make conversation in the cop car. She first asks: "Am I in trouble?" Before saying she is "so lost" over why she has been placed in cuffs. As the police car arrives at the station, Formella is led into an interview room with police to be questioned. Separate footage goes on to capture the moment she first becomes emotional as she is taken back to the police car after the initial talks with investigators. At this point she had been made aware of the charges placed against her. These included two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and one of criminal sexual assault. The teacher has denied the allegations, according to a court petition. Sat in the back of the police car again, the alleged rapist is seen raising her hands to her face as she begins to cry. She can even be heard saying: "I feel like I'm gonna (sic) throw up." The police officer goes to get her a bag as Formella brings her knees up to her chest and continues to weep. After burying her face into her hood, the now distraught lady exclaims: "Oh my God." Formella, who married her college sweetheart, taught and coached boy's soccer at Downers Grove South High School, according to prosecutors. The abuse is alleged to have happened in a classroom before the school day started back in December 2023 - when Formella was 28. DuPage County Attorney Robert Berlin said: “The allegations against Ms. Formella are extremely disturbing. “It is alleged that she used her position of trust and authority as a tutor and a coach to sexually assault a minor student. "The type of abuse and behavior alleged in this case will not be tolerated.” The boy's mom unearthed the alleged assault when she bought him a new phone and was linking it to his iCloud account on Friday, according to the petition. In the process, she allegedly came across texts between her son and the teacher discussing sexual contact, and even a relationship. The "relationship" seemed to have been ended by the boy, cops said. The shocked mum confronted her son, and they both went to Downers Grove Police Department that same day. Prosecutors claimed more evidence of sexual contact between the pair had been uncovered through an initial investigation as well. The teacher was bailed after her arrest on the condition she does not have contact with anyone under the age of 18, and doesn't enter the school. She has been placed on administrative leave from her role there, according to the Daily Herald. Downers Grove South High School principle, Arwen Lyp, sent an email round to parents updating them on the charges. She wrote: “We are devastated, and our community is reeling. An adult has been charged with the most serious of violations, and trust has been broken." According to records, Formella received her teaching licence in 2017, for language arts and as a learning behaviour specialist. She taught in the special services department of Downers Grove since the fall of 2020, and coached boys and girls soccer there since August 2021.
