What time and TV channel is Munster v Ulster on in the URC tonight?
@Source: irishmirror.ie
Munster and Ulster are in the scenario they had hoped to avoid but regrets mean nothing now.
Defeat for either province in what Peter O'Mahony has described a "spicy derby" won't mathematically end their hopes of a URC play-off berth - and the Champions Cup qualification that comes with it.
But for the ninth-placed hosts and 12th placed visitors, defeat probably spells the end of the line in that bid. Munster host eighth-placed Benetton in Cork next Friday in their final regular season game while Ulster must travel to 10th-placed Edinburgh.
Both provinces will have a firm idea of what is needed from their respective last hurrahs - if anything - by mid afternoon on Sunday, but they will be feeling a lot better about themselves if they win this one.
“It’s challenging for everybody and that’s top-end, professional sport," said Munster's attack coach Mike Prendergast. “We’re in the scenario we don’t want to be. We’d prefer to be qualified. But you want to see players and staff stand up and get this right this week, really go after it.
"As a coach who’s been in the game for a while, in France and dealing with different types of challenges…you can see the good people coming out. I spoke to the players about that and that’s something that I look forward to. I think the players are 100%, the staff too."
Where is the game on?
The match will be played at Thomond Park, Limerick
What time is kick-off?
The match kicks off at 7.35pm on Friday
What TV channel is it on?
It will be shown live on RTÉ 2 from (7pm) and Premier Sports 1 (from 7pm), and will be streamed live on URC.tv
Betting odds
Munster to win 2/7, Ulster to win 11/4, the draw is 19/1
Munster often thrive on emotion and among the five players returning to the side, Peter O'Mahony and three-time centurion Stephen Archer will be playing in their final game at Thomond Park. Conor Murray, who is on the bench, is in the same position.
"For the three lads to be involved for the weekend, try and give them what they deserve in what could be potentially their last game (at Thomond) is a big bonus, to play in front of our home crowd," said Prendergast. I’m sure the people of Limerick, Cork and all round the province will get in behind the team and the players who are finishing up.”
Ulster welcome back Iain Henderson, Rob Baloucoune and Michael Lowry and head coach Richie Murphy's message is to not panic. "I don't want a situation where the players are feeling desperate," said Murphy. "Yes, we're all desperate to win but we don't want to play like that.
"We want to play for each other and play the brand of rugby that we have over the last number of weeks. We just need to turn some performances into results."
