When the final Ireland squad of 32 for the Women’s Rugby World Cup is publicly revealed by the IRFU today it won’t come as a surprise to the players themselves because it was announced internally last week. Head coach Scott Bemand had conversations with players after the first warm-up game against Scotland and before the second game against Canada last Saturday. That was always his plan. Players needed to know rather than it hanging over them going into a clash against the second-ranked team in the world.
